Cashing in between √Ǭ£699 to √Ǭ£1699, these puppies are high quality, non-linear, digital video editing stations capable of producing near professional movies with ease. “The line between consumer and professional video continues to blur,” said Ken Omae, vice president of marketing for the Information Technologies Marketing Division at Sony Electronics. “Many people believe a video made from a home PC could never be mistaken for one made on a professional editing studio, but today’s technology is changing that more and more. Videomaker Expo provided an ideal platform for Sony to showcase the VAIO Digital Studio PC to the consumer and demonstrate how easy and fun it is to create prosumer quality videos on a rock-solid, stable home PC.” The latest additions to Sony’s VAIO Digital Studio desktop PC family include the entry-level PCV-R532DS with a 466MHz Intel Celeron processor, and three higher-end models featuring Intel’s Pentium III processor, the PCV-R536DS, the PCV-R538DS and the PCV-R539DS each with increased processor power and boosted hard drives. Bundled multimedia software includes updated versions of Sony’s DVgate Motion, PictureGear, Smart Capture and Smart Connect as well as Adobe Premier LE.“Sony has been an industry leader in the development of digital technologies, bringing audio video and information technology (AV/IT) convergence features into the home with PC products like the VAIO Digital Studio series,” said Rich Black, senior marketing manager of desktop PCs for the Information Technologies Marketing Division (ITMD) of Sony Electronics. “With these PCs, aspiring video enthusiasts and hobbyists are provided with all of the post-production tools required to create a digital masterpiece, including digital video editing and digital imaging capabilities at a fraction of the price of comparable systems.“Just hear those sleigh bells ringing ...
