We’re loving Annie Vought’s latest drop. Much like her previous offerings but now on a more dramatic and larger scale she delicately cuts away the white space in handwritten letters and scribbles, leaving behind the emotive scrawl. The fragile nature of her work lends itself to the content of the writing, with “I am sorry” repeatedly layered in an aggressive manner in the paper cut above.

With the overwhelming digital presence in art and design at the moment, it’s refreshing to see the hand-crafted rebelling against it’s technologically driven peers. See the sheer complexity of her paper cuts in person until April 21, in “You Are A Bitch” a joint show with Hannah Ireland at Unspeakable Projects in San Francisco.
