last weeks brit invasion of tokyo by the UK motion graphics industry was a complete success! there were only a few casualties from self inflicted wounds and most participants have limped home with fond memories and a stack of name cards! last weekend saw the onedotzero premier uk motion graphics festival hit tokyo japan. attendances were up double from last year and all the guests both local and foreign were very well received. this year saw the introduction of a new segment for women in the moving image arena called strangely enough "girls on film"! this section featured some amazing work from several women directors including floria sigismondi whose work was outstanding. the j-star screening featuring japanese artists had been substantially updated with some very cool material. many guests from the uk motion graphics and moving image scene were on hand at the event including state, unit9, passion pictures, punk films, d-fuse, hexstatic and lost in space. the event was supported by the british council who also sponsored a simultaneous trade mission to the the japanese creative industry consisting of many of those uk companies involved in festival. the festival official site is at http://www.onedotzero.jp my digital happy snaps of the event can be found at http://www.lostinspace.com/onedotzero-tokyo/
