Family groups and a film industry watchdog protested Tuesday at British censors' decision to allow the screening of a film they say glamorizes pedophilia. The British Board of Film Classification recently gave the go-ahead for the film version of Vladimir Nabokov's controversial novel "Lolita" to be shown in cinemas across Britain in May.

The film still has no distributor willing to show it in the U.S. The film is directed by Adrian Lyne, famous for his steamy "9-1/2 Weeks" and sex thriller "Fatal Attraction," and stars British Oscar-winning actor Jeremy Irons and American actress Dominique Swain.
