I Can Read You is a new artwork being developed by artist Simon Poulter as a part of a wider research project called Active Posters.

Active Posters are screens or standard posters displaying QR codes which can be read by camera phones and used to access content such as music, films and information.

Simon uses this idea and approoaches this idea from a conceptual rather than functional standpoint to create I Can Read You. He will explore the possibilities of the technology in cafe/bar at the watershed media centre bristol from the 3rd to the 6th of may, and invites customers to interact with the work and watch its progress. "I Can Read You is an adaptation of the Royal Game of Ur, discovered in the ancient city of Ur in Mesopotamia. The game has been designed to be played on mobile phones with an internet connection, running the Series 60 Symbian operating system. The game is open ended but to win you must discover the gateway to evil and then decide whether to pass through it. Each of the levels are laid out according to the original Ur board game. On your journey you will encounter the 'knowledge base', mythical digital characters and voices and false trails." Active Posters is Hewlett-Packard Labs project. I Can Read You is supported by HP Labs and the Watershed.
