Following the destruction of the two monumental 5th century Buddhas of Bamyan by the Taliban in 2001 [which took over one month of heavy artillery fire since the monuments were carved into mountainside] Japanese quantum-inspired chroma sculptor, Hiro Yamagata has been commissioned to create an on-site installation, projecting neon Buddhas into the voids left by the destruction. Utilising a network of 140+ long and short range multicoloured laser beams installed at distances of 500m, 1 km and 5 km the Yamagata Buddhas are powered by solar energy and wind turbines. Hiro Yamagata will be known to protein people from his collaboration with NASA on the  Yokohoma Sea Port colour cubes. Rubik eat ya heart out.
