Nike is celebrating the launch of the running season in London with ‘From Moon to Lunar’ at the 1948 store. In homage to Nike Running's pioneering attitude to design and technical innovation, 1948 was transformed to further reflect its status as a home to the contemporary urban running culture it nurtures in the form of Run Dem Crew.

If you swing by 1948, you'll find a giant optical installation of Nike’s latest technical running shoe, the Lunar Eclipse+. The immersive piece brings to life the impressive functional innovations in the shoe. This feature is complimented and contextualised by a heritage timeline wall, telling the story of 40 years of Nike running innovation through archive visuals and iconic products, starting with Bowerman's incredible Moon Shoe.
The show also features Ben Drury, graphic designer and former Mo'Wax art director, who has created a visual interpretation inspired by the Lunar Eclipse+. Together with Tim+Barry, Ben has created a short video and poster series entitled ‘Ground Control to LDN’. The film documents one of Ben’s night time runs with Run Dem Crew, 1948's weekly in-house running club that he co-founded, and expresses what he calls “the walking-on-the-moon high” that running brings.
From Moon To Lunar continues Nike Sportswear's running-inspired GRID campaign and Gyakusou collection created in collaboration with Undercover's Jun Takahashi. This the ongoing cultural reinterpretation of running, challenging the way that people think about the sport.
From Moon to Lunar is open throughout October at 1948, Arches 477 - 478, Batemans Row, EC2A 3HH
