People of Manchester behold the wonder of live digital public art! Spearfish Ltd , in association with Arts Council England, bring temporary demonstration/ exhibition Digital Space to the city of Manc for four days. The digital age has landed! Bill Gates would argue it landed some time ago but now it has truly landed in the art world. The four-day Digital Space show kicked off to a stunning start yesterday with the first of three invite only previews. Artists Sumit Sarkar and Simon J Pantling dazzled a diverse audience with their live creations using an array of state-of-the-art technical fandanglery courteousy of software giants Adobe, Wacom, Epsom and hangover purveyors Glenfiddich Whiskey. It's not all about sponsorship though as 30% of the proceeds from the art auction on Friday will go to Wood Street Mission charity. As well as being able to bid for modern masterpieces, previous works from Sarkar, Pantling and other featured Spearfish artists will be exhibited on the 19th. The Digital Space Icubator can be found at One Piccadilly Gardens near Piccadilly train station (providing easy access for all Christmas shoppers in desperate need of The Great Art Escape) in Manchester from 5:30pm to 9pm on 16th-19th December 2003. For tickets and further details about the exhibition contact Ben Reed of Spearfish Ltd. "Big Dig" by Simon J Pantling
