Mien Magazine, a tongue-in-cheek online publication that celebrates style, culture and etiquette in today’s society, has teamed up with Space CIC to run the pop-up Charm School in a space on London’s Exmouth Market. Running until the 22nd September, the ‘after-school’ type classes for adults look to the past to provide some respite from the city and everyday life with activities including home economics, sleep clinics, sewing lessons and posture tutorials. Classes cost from £10 upwards and visitors are also invited to just drop in to the space, where they will find a history shop, cake stall, library and tearoom. Not only will the school appeal to the growing number of people who want to learn new skills and have a DIY mentality, it also breaks away from technology and our digitalised society, bringing like-minded individuals together in appreciation of old-fashioned values and traditions.
