The ICA and Beck's Bier have announced the shortlist for this year's Beck's Futures. With a total prize fund of £40,000 including £20,000 for the overall winner, and three exhibitions nationwide, Beck's Futures identifies and promotes the work of the most promising and contemporary artists living and working in the UK. Thirteen artists, all under the age of 35, have been selected by this year's Beck's Futures panel. They are: Blood n Feathers (Jo Robertson and Lucy Stein) Pablo Bronstein Stefan Bruggemann Richard Hughes Flavia Muller Medeiros Seb Patane Olivia Plender Simon Popper Jamie Shovlin Daniel Sinsel Matt Stokes Sue Tompkins Bedwyr Williams This year, the public can play a part in the allocation of the overall award through a public block vote equal to any one of the judges. Votes can be made from march 31, 2006 and will be colelcted at host venues and online. Beck's Futures 2006 exhibition opens at the ICA London on March 31, followed by CCA, Glasgow on April 8, and Arnolfini, Bristol on April 13, 2006. The winner of Beck's Futures 2006 will be announced at the awards night on May 2, 2006.
