World Phone in Sick Day celebrates its 3rd year on the 6th April 1999 this year and we thought you might want to get a piece of the action. Described as, “the annual holiday for idlers, slackers, anarchists and workers of the world” WPISD has had a great response in previous years, inspiring a lightning call-in-sick strike by prison guards at Wormwood Scrubs, as well as a sick out by up to 80% of Irish police after a spokesman appeared on RTE.

The 1997 phone in sick day culminated in British Airways workers phoning in sick en-masse instead of striking in a dispute with management. Some 2000 BA staff took part.

So, if you think this sounds like a good idea, check out their site for more information. However, if you work for yourselves, like us, I can see it causing a few problems.
