Quantified self specialists Jawbone have released UP Coffee – a caffeine-tracking app for iOS that can tell users how their caffeine intake affects their sleep patterns.

By entering a few details – including sex, weight and caffeine tolerance – and logging your caffeine intake (tea, Cokes and Red Bulls included), the app estimates when the caffeine will wear off (and when you’ll be able to get to sleep).

For those with Jawbone’s UP band, the app can work in conjunction with the band for more detailed insights – explicitly showing users their sleep data versus caffeine intake. And, as expected of Jawbone, UP Coffee looks as beautiful as it is useful – proof that accessible, minimal design is equally as important in tracking people’s health as the hardware.
