Official “Friends of the Feed”, Sprawl has steadily grown into something more than a dj, a couple of projectors and an internet connection sort of event. Now rolling into it’s third year, the Sprawlites have worked hard to get some top-class kids out of homework and into the Global Cafe with all their toys and tunes.
You’ll be able to feast your senses on sounds from Michael [Tricky Disco] Wells, Puppy & Paul Arnold, while Kaffe Matthews takes on Bit Tonic in a “sampledelic digital battle of the sound collagists” i.e. a violin and Powerbook vs. some SL1200. But wait ... there’s more ... virtual French “fantasmagorians”, otherwise know as Borderland, have their new CD-ROM on demo which blurs the boundaries between reality and a video game by becoming an experimental search that slides through aesthetic sub- cultures, devouring large words and making everything sound fantastic ... and we haven’t even had a go yet.
All this and more from DFuse, Waveform and a special surprise [Stereolab?] guest. Three pounds the tax, 15 Golden Square, London the venue. See you there.
