All sorts of mergers and consolidations have been going down in the snowboard industry lately, as reported in the Skinny this week.

Topping the list is K2’s 3.2 million-dollar acquisition of well- respected manufacturer Morrow. Both companies are considered to be in the top 5 of the world’s best snowboard manufacturers. Transworld Snowboarding reports that K2 will receive Morrow intellectual property, ‘99/00 inventory, and production equipment from their Salem, Oregon factory (which will in turn close).

Morrow had recently rebounded from financial hardship and had already churned out over a million dollars in boots, bindings, and boards. K2 intends to keep the Morrow brand distinct from its own line, recognizing the steady following among riders that Morrow has garnered.
