The “Kings of Rock” are polishing their jewels for the finishing touches of their eighth album, “Crown Royal,” for release later this year on Aristarchive/Profile Records. Those vibe-like ninfonauts at Zentertainment

have told us a special limited-edition package of the record will be available that includes a disc of classic Run-DMC songs and a disc of new songs, and Russell Simmons has returned to the studio for the first time in nearly 15 years to executive produce the album, which will feature guest appearances by Slick Rick, Fat Joe, Lord Finesse, Method Man, Nas, Suger Ray and remaking “It’s Tricky,” Aerosmith.

But, more interesting to us, is Arista’s recent acquisition of Profile, and the current re-releasing orgy of the band’s 1984 self-titled debut, as well as “King of Rock,” “Raising Hell,” “Tougher Than Leather,” “Back From Hell,” and “Down With The King.” All pure party classics.
