ret.inevitable is a one-night film happening premiering this June inside the spectacular cathedral-like chambers of the Brooklyn Bridge Anchorage. Designed as a playground of cinema, live music, performance art and production design, ret.inevitable will present today's young, cutting edge filmmakers in a venue which reflects their spirit and energy.

ret.inevitable will be a dramatic departure from the typical film viewing experience. Some of the area's most innovative production designers, fine artists, performers and musicians are collaborating to create a dynamic, fluid cinematic event. Participant / spectators will spend the night wandering through eight enormous rooms &£45;- each space a unique collaboration between a curator and an architect &£45;- uniquely sculpted and presenting their own individual screening experience, from projection on the ceilings to rooms full of tiny monitors lined in rows. There will be interludes with live music and performance, live film scoring, roving human popcorn stands and an ad-sponsored souvenir program guide.

ret.inevitable is a collaboration between Creative Time and FLMSCL (pronounced filmskul). Creative Time is an internationally renowned non-profit arts organization that has been exhibiting art in unexpected places for nearly twenty-five years. FLMSCL is a joint effort between Francine Hermelin and Adam Levite of associates in science, a creative collective of award-winning graphic designers, writers, artists and thinkers and David Levine, the Director of Video Production/ Promotion and archive/R at Astralwerks Records.

ret.inevitable will represent film's formal debut in what New York magazine calls "the most breathtaking concert space in the region" &£45;- the Brooklyn Bridge Anchorage. Home to Creative Time's highly-acclaimed music and art series for the past fourteen summers, the Anchorage has featured performances and installations by Sonic Youth, Soundlab and Jaron Lanier among many others. ret.inevitable will be anchorage 98's opening night.
