I’m not sure I totally understand what this 24 hour CD-ROM project is all about, but hey, it hasn’t stopped us writing about it before.
Conceived by John Hayward, RealTime “always starts from the time you start it, i.e. if you start at 5pm it will playback the recording from what was recorded at 5pm.” See what I mean? There is no fast-forward or rewind buttons and the recording is a compelling mixture of conversations, happenings and outrage which were all captured in one take from 6am on 17th April 1998 to 6am the following morning in a flat in Central London.
The “software” is available for PC or Mac, but we missed the launch event last night so we couldn’t ask them what it’s all about. We’ll have a stab in the dark and call in “Art.”
