RealNetworks has posted its revenue results for the quarter ending June 30, 1998 and they were $15.1 million, a 115% increase over revenue of $7.0 million reported in the second quarter of 1997. This represents the 12th consecutive quarter of revenue growth.

"RealNetworks showed continued momentum in the second quarter, with strengths across all of RealNetworks' core businesses," said Rob Glaser, chairman and CEO, RealNetworks, Inc. "We also continued to expand the streaming media market while maintaining more than 85% share of the category. "

RealNetworks also announced that it has reached more than 27 million registered users of its RealPlayer, an increase of 13 million since the end of 1997. They go on to say that more than 85% of all Web pages on the Internet with streaming media use their technology. With the G2 codec "just outta beta", it'll be another interesting year them.
