Never one to fan the flames of great white Internet hype, we couldn’t resist give this little gem from GamePower News a gentle boost into the mainstream media. He begineth the rumour mill: “Canst thou elaborate on a rumour I heard regarding an upcoming PlayStation 1.5? I seem to remember reading something on the Web about Sony producing this ‘between the PlayStations PlayStation’ to whet our appetite for its next-generation system. If there is indeed such a critter coming down from the SCEA/SCEI mountain, what’s the difference between it and the PlayStation and PlayStation 2? What will it cost? Why is Sony doing this? Surely it too will be backward compatible. Or, will it require new games? Will it run PlayStation 2 titles? Am I ranting? Is such a critter even possible or necessary? Should I skip it altogether and await the mighty PlayStation 2 release? And, regarding the PlayStation 2, is it true Nintendo may release some titles for it? I saw that somewhere on the Web also. Anything new on a release date and price for PlayStation 2?“Anyone got any answers or we will let this one spin totally out of control;-)
