Adobe announced the official release of Photoshop 5.0. The latest upgrade to the popular image editing software has began shipping English versions immediately. Major new features including Multiple Undo, Editable Text, Enhanced Color Management and Spot-Color Channel Support have helped version 5.0 win early kudos from graphic designers, photographers and other creative professionals.

Photoshop 5.0 joins other new Adobe titles such as Adobe Premiere 5.0, ImageReady 1.0, and Adobe PhotoDeluxe Business Edition 1.0.

Photoshop 5.0 will retail for an estimated street price of $649 for new users, and current users of any Photoshop version can upgrade for $199. U.S. and Canada users who purchased Photoshop after March 27, 1998 are eligible for a free upgrade to 5.0
