The now legendary West End club attracting fashionistas, rock stars, celebs and arty types such luminaries as The Strokes, Primal Scream, Bjork, Kate Moss, Zoe Ball and Sam Taylor-Wood amongst many others is now set to release a double album on the UK React Label. Stay tuned for NagNagNag LP Competition giveaway in the coming weeks. REACT MUSIC TO RELEASE NAG NAG NAG ALBUM, 20 OCTOBER 2003 NAG NAG NAG, the now legendary West End club, has been a catalyst in the tearing up of club culture as we know it. The weekly subterranean party at The Ghetto is the anti-thesis of identi-kit corporate clubbing and has been lauded with praise for putting the hedonism and excitement back into the UK's club scene. Although deliberately DIY and Lo-Fi, Nag Nag Nag's distinctive young crowd and subsequent notoriety has attracted fashionistas, rock stars, celebs and arty types such luminaries as The Strokes, Primal Scream, Bjork, Kate Moss, Zoe Ball and Sam Taylor-Wood amongst many others. Regulars like The Rapture, Peaches, Richard James (Aphex Twin), Chris Cunningham & Wolfgang Tillmans also come down to witness the clubs celebrated live showcases. Cutting edge talents happily set up shop for one-off performances to an eager crowd. Yoko Ono, Avenue D, T. Raumschmiere, & My Robot Friend have all done special live NAG NAG NAG gigs. And now for those not lucky or brave enough to have ventured inside it's hallowed walls, the club's revered electric/eclectic soundtrack has been captured on "Nag Nag Nag - The Album", the new double CD and triple LP compiled by promoter and DJ Johnny Slut to be released on React on 20th October. Jonny Slut, one half of Atomizer with DJ partner Fil OK and signed to DJ Hell's Gigolo Records, says "Nag Nag Nag was born out of the boredom of soulless superclubs that offered nothing but a vile corporate excuse for a night out, and the dreary macho, chin-stroking soul boy values of the dance scene that are about as far removed from any sense of fun and abandon as you could imagine". "NAG NAG NAG, the album i hope will reflect why the club has such a diverse, popular appeal - from art students in their mums old curtains, to gothique ebm-ers, dragsters and hardened clubbers, sick of repetitive beats and crap superclub attitudes". CD1 will feature nu-Nag dancefloor anthems from the wave of credible acts straddling the dance/rock divide, such as the brilliant Tiga track 'Burning Down', Avenue D, Adult, Atomizer, Superpitcher & Electronicat and CD2 has all the original new wave & electro classics you could ever hope to have in your collection including tracks by D.A.F and Adam & The Ants. It`s like Ministry of Sound never happened!! The album has been compiled by Jonny to reflect the distinctive Nag Nag Nag infatuation for synth-porn/pervy nuwave-disceau together with highlights of the burgeoning punk funk sound & classic tracks from the late 70`s early 80`s punk/new wave embryonic electro scene. For jonny each track had to be "the sound of a small, dark, sweaty club that's as dumb with lipstick and blind with mascara as to attract the brightest & edgiest, "hungry-for-SOMETHING-ELSE" kids. www.nagnagnag.info www.react-music.co.uk
