Launching this October, Little Asia ‘99 is an open network initiated by Hong Kong Arts Centre, Tokyo Tiny Alice Theatre and Taipei Crown Theatre in 1997. The presenters are devoted to collecting information about all kinds of Asian little theatre activities and promoting them by  facilitating information, human resources and performance exchange among Asian cities.  As their press release says: “One may forecast that theatre will never die in face of the millennium. And now, you can even see the recapture of theatre in videos!  To feature more on the Asian little theatre, Hong Kong Arts Centre this year will co-present with Videotage to hold a Video Cafe spotting on the Taiwanese and Japanese Theatre as well as the little theatre in Philippines, India, Palestinian and Nepal and Sri Lanka in the Little Asia (Xtra V-sion). And the Hong Kong groups toured in the Little Asian Theatre Exchange Network will share their experience in a meeting.“Seems to be interesting and there is a bunch of other stuff going on as well along a similar vein, so get on down.
