From October 29th till November 1st [kunst und technik] exhibits video works by Martin Dammann, Christoph Schmidt and Tim&Jan Edler [kt] at the laboratory-building in Berlin-Mitte. The selected works show different approaches in handling video image-information:
Martin Dammann, who is currently working in London through a DAAD-scholarship, circumscribes his working field with the term "the life of the images in themselves". Through a reorganization of the images? manner of representation he tries to make visible structures that connect form and content. Beyond the usual acknowledgement of legitimacy and the known anticipation, the images develop a strong
independent domain and statement. Dammann shows new work from England.
Christoph Schmidt, one of the founders of IfaU (Institute for applied urban studies), shows the video-loop "raumauthist" (1997). "raumauthist" investigates and interprets a breakdancers? space of articulation. This piece of work is part of a series of different approaches in spatial analysis.
[augment] approaches the future handling of "data-objects" in physical space and renders an outlook on tomorrows computer-desktop: kungfusoft (TM). The [augment] video-loop was developed for a full-length video-presentation of the same named hybrid-project by [kunst und technik].
