While on assignment in Iraq, Channel One reporter Janet Choi met 19-year-old Waleed Rabiaa whose life has been profoundly changed by the war. Waleed put together a heavy metal band called Acrassicauda. Under Saddam Hussein's rule, being in such a band meant you ran the risk of getting arrested. This happened to a band called Scarecrow who was dragged off stage and put in jail for two months after performing an anti-Saddam song. A music teacher suggested to Waleed and his band that they write a song that was pro-Saddam to avoid arrest. The band initially resisted. They finally penned a song that's seemingly pro-Saddam but includes a few insults between the lines. Now Waleed is much more optimistic about his future, and is no longer afraid to perform his music his way. Click here to watch their video ...
