It’s hard to believe that nearly 3 months have passed since the most powerful earthquake in the country’s history hit Japan. Recent reports indicate that around 28,000 people have either been killed or are still missing, and for the survivors, a day-to-day reality of shattered lives and evacuation centres won’t be changing any time soon. Hope and Love for Japan is raising money for the Japanese Red Cross and their efforts to make life more bearable for those living in these evacuation centres.

The Red Cross are organising special appliance packages giving people living in the centres key domestic products in the hope to bring some normalcy back into their lives. The initiative will focus on the main areas devastated including Miyagi, Fukushima and Iwate. The fundraising event takes place from 7th to the 8th June at Concrete in Shoreditch. A range of designers as diverse as The Only Son, Vivian Westwood, Cos, Peter Jensen and Christian Louboutin have all lovingly contributed items to the sale which will be available at a 70% discounted price. Needless to say, 100% of all proceeds will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross.
