It has been a while since we have got sent a good press release hyping some ?non-descript digital dialogue between emerging online communities?, so here?s one for those missing a hit of lateral literation ?whatever that means.Guest House takes the audience on a tour of an impossible building - stepping out of a hospital ward in Glasgow the performers find themselves in a hay barn in rural Wales, walking upstairs they enter a prison cell in Bristol. Guest House is a fragile place where stories are told, traced and rubbed out. Uninvited Guests make innovative collaborative performance that uses elements of architectural practice, digital modeling, sound and time-based media. The work draws together places and events that interfere where they touch.Research for Guest House, began with a series of interviews asking “Can you tell me about a room?” and “What happened there?” Recorded responses form the database from which the performance emerges. Live sampling documents the event as it happens, but, in playing-back the recordings, the memories continue to deteriorate. Computer generated 3-D models of the rooms will be linked via a bluescreen to the performance space which will allow the merging of models of objects/real performers into the simulation. By vision mixing between the virtual and real walk-through the company create a hybrid representation which constantly drifts between the prepared and the live. So, now you know. The premiere performance is tonight, Friday 22 and Saturday 23 October, which will be followed by national tour.
