On a similar note to the above story, beginning tonight [October 30th], the Global Collage group will project its web site onto a public wall in San Francisco. The web site displays a rotating gallery of images submitted by world-wide artists via the internet. Passersby will experience a truly global collection of ideas, emotions, and expressions.

By using the internet as the means for collection, the Global Collage team can cheaply and easily gather artwork from a diverse group of artists from all corners of the globe.

The project also brings the power of the internet and the beauty of art to an audience who may not have the opportunity to use a computer or to view art in their daily lives. By projecting the Collage on a public street, passersby will not only have the chance to experience art from around the world, they will be able to share in the world made possible by the internet - without needing to buy or use a computer.
