Compaq is introducing a Fingerprint Identification Technology which is about the size of a deck of cards and plugs into the office computer. It will allow an employee to hold his or her finger to a camera for matching with a stored print map of the authenticated fingerprint in order to convince the computer to allow access.

The technology was developed in collaboration with San Bruno, CA.-based Identicator Technology; similar products are already on the market, but Compaq's is relatively cheap at $99.
