Fabric, the new ?super-club? in London?s off-centre location certainly knows how to get itself a rep, without even trying. We bring you an exclusive account of this new venue as we have been to two parties in Fabric?s hallowed bass filled bowels in the last six days and club hasn?t even opened to the public yet ? yes, we are that cool, honest.First the ?non-event? of their opening on October 1st which was a result of the local council have a ?quick once over? to find the toilets and electrics weren?t up to Health and safety standards. Not so great as they?d just done a massive press campaign ? but you know how the saying goes, ?all publicity is good publicity.?Second was Deepend?s fifth birthday bash last Friday that was the clubs first official opening, albeit to a capacity 2500 private guests. Little did they know that ?friends? of the design agency would spawn 1500 extra invites on their Macs and color Epsom printers at home to fill the club out by 10:30, leaving the rest outside in be ?manhandled? by the overexcited door staff. Once inside, thanks to some backdoor action c/o my man Mikey, we were presented with a wicked space. A little busy, but still with massive potential - from location, line-up and layout points of view. By far the best room is the little ?double-barreled? boom box up the silver stairs, which out did the two main dance floors 4 to 1, even with the body-sonic sounds systems set.So, last night was the official ?launch night? and more of the same door dilemas, except it was pouring with rain so all the pretty party people were in no mood for hanging around. Apart for the obivous half glazed ?I?m not sure where the toliet is in this place? look on most of the punters, everyone seemed happy. The staff had things more in order, except a free bar [whut?s up with that?] and so as the initial rush of numbers began to die down, we made room for a little OMD to some schmoove electro-breaks.All in all it is going to be rocking place with less of the Home tourists and the Ministry travels, with V-Recordings crew rolling in their to fire up their first “resident evil” evening of break beat and d ‘n’b .So make a date to shake your thang and become a part of the Fabric-nation.For full listings, location and entry details visit their site.
