Our friends at Diesel want you to know about the launch of the 2005 Diesel-U-Music awards. So prepare yourself for a "killer new music tour and an awards ceremony extravaganza that puts this event at the forefront of the music calendar." Yeah. The 2005 Diesel-U-Music competition kicks off next month then tours the UK in April with the final awards ceremony, annually televised by Channel 4, in July.  Winners will be judged by Diesel-U-Music network partners and will collect their awards and perform on the night alongside a host of established artists. Last year√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s event saw Goldie Lookin√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ Chain rubbing shoulders with the then virtually unknown Kasabian while Mick Jones and the late, great John Peel both collected prestige awards for Lifetime Achievement and Outstanding Contribution.  The Hardest Working Man in Showbiz, Mr James Brown, also accepted an award for International Lifetime Achievement and remains an ongoing supporter of Diesel-U-Music. 2004√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s Hip Hop winner Aphletik, since the awards last July, has supported both The Pharcyde and Pharaoh Monche, recorded a killer track with Mercury Music Prize nominee Ty and is now speaking with key record labels.  2004√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s Electronic category winners, The Infadels, were signed by Wall of Sound on the day of the awards and are currently working on their debut album, which is set for release this summer.
