D.D.D.D.Film is doing the do at this year’s Cannes Film Festival with a program designed to showcase how films will be both created and distributed in the future. Boy wonder, Bart Cheever will be sending portions of the programme to Cannes via his mission HQ uplink satellite superstudio, which is then stored on a ultra-high definition store-forwarding digital device and pixel-perfectly projected in surround sound

stereo vision, making this the first truly “digital” film festival in that the work will be kept as digital information every step of the way. Ooooo.

D.FILM’s program at Cannes will premiere a mix of digital work from hot up and coming directors and tomorrow’s new breed of digital filmmakers, including Wavelength’s critically acclaimed “The Last Broadcast”. This year the festival will travel to 21 cities internationally including New York, Tokyo, Berlin and San Francisco with a selection also available on proteinTV.
