Even though they haven’t added a link to Ninfomania from their and we’ve plugged their event “nuff times”, we’ll let them off as their latest press release would have won our competition we ran a while back for the longest technobabble in one sentence hands down. Take a deep breath ...“Mutations of club culture, sinewave work, contemporary mouse music, generative music, soundscapes, sampling, audible electronic maths, digital aesthetics, field recordings though filters, treated voicework, meta radio, synthesis, electricity harmonics, ring modulation, binary crossover, concrete 2000, noisegate flangework, evolutionism, cyberbioptic audiovisual matter”.On August 1st 1999 Lovebytes are launching The Digital Space Programme, a new venture for music and multimedia publishing. In early 2000, Lovebytes will publish a cd+cdrom package entitled MAKE/MUTATE - a compilation of new electronic music commissions and commissions of sound and music orientated interactive works. These opportunities are aimed at artists who “embrace a digital aesthetic”, whatever that means. The projects will be developed in Sheffield between September and December 1999. If you think you have what it takes then check out their site and sign-up to the list as that is the only way you will get an application. Don’t forget to ask why they haven’t got a link Ninfomania.
