Old Skool King of the Beats, Prince Paul is reportedly putting together a movie and album project that promises to be one of the biggest things to come out of hip-hop ... e v e r. Starring the RZA, Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane, Chubb Rock, Kool Keith, Special Ed, Everlast, De La Soul, Chris Rock and a bunch of other hip-hop notables, “A Prince Among Thieves” is an allegory about record industry corruption.

Paul originally developed the story as a one-man play that he performed on Broadway, but the project grew. “My main goal was combining ‘Juice,’ ‘Grease,’ Woody Allen’s ‘Sleeper’ and ‘I’m Bout It.’ I thought if I could fit those four elements into this story I might really have something.” The related album is also ambitious, adopting an unique format for a soundtrack, featuring skits related to, but not actually in the film. Sounds like it’s going to be a classic before its hits the street.
