So go on, AMAZE US! ///////// PSP√¢‚Äû¬¢ Amaze Me PlayStation√Ç¬Æ Portable (PSP) has teamed up with leading online fashion and arts project SHOWstudio to create a 4-week installation at the √¢‚ǨÀúComme des Garcons√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ revolutionary Dover Street Market. From 5th September, the Installation entitled, √¢‚ǨÀúPSP Amaze Me√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢, will explore routes to creativity based on PSP√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s values of Beauty, Desire and Freedom. Conceived by SHOWstudio and its founder Nick Knight, the installation will set down a challenge from six UK leading artists within the creative industries spanning fashion, film, art and music to √¢‚ǨÀúAmaze Me√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢. The message will be communicated on a series of film shorts which can be viewed on http://www.showstudio.com/pspamazeme/uk and at the Dover Street installation. All up and coming talent can then record a 30 second video clip √¢‚Ǩ≈ìAmazing√¢‚Ǩ¬ù the cultural icon of their choice, which will be uploaded on to the SHOWstudio/PlayStation Portable site. The videos will act as a conceptual exchange of ideas with the aim of offering key industry figures and aspiring creatives alike the inspiration to use and share. The panellists will each choose an individual that most √¢‚ǨÀúamazes√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ them and will offer the winners a chance to interact with them in the future. √¢‚Ǩ≈ìPSP Amaze Me is an opportunity for people to access their heroes and demonstrate raw spontaneous creativity, says Nick Knight. When I came out of college all I wanted was to get my creative talent across to people √¢‚Ǩ‚Äú this project will provide the ideal first step on the ladder√¢‚Ǩ¬ù. "Wow, what a great assignment,√¢‚Ǩ¬ù says Carl Christopher, from Sony Computer Entertainment UK. √¢‚Ǩ≈ìThe opportunity to work with, or be mentored by, some of the UK's leading creatives is priceless.  PSP is proud to be an instigator in bringing through the next generation of UK arts, film, music and fashion talent." Key Creative Involvement: Isabella Blow - Perhaps the most influential and respected British fashion stylist, currently Fashion Director at Tatler magazine.  Isabella would like people to design an outfit which has the ability to reflect the changing emotions of its wearer, something fit for a James Bond-style escape. The designer who manages to √¢‚ǨÀúamaze√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ Isabella will be offered work experience at Tatler and given a critique of their work by Isabella. Sarah Doukas - Director of Storm Model Agency, London's premier agency, who discovered Kate Moss, Liberty Ross and Lily Cole. Sarah will be asking people to walk ten paces away from the camera, then back to the screen, to strike their best pose, say their name and what they see in the mirror.  The best performance will be offered a 'Go-See' appointment at Storm Models. A truly amazing participant will be considered for representation by Storm Models. Tim Marlow - Director of Exhibitions at White Cube in London. He founded Tate: The Art Magazine, and is currently a presenter of the World Service arts programme, The Ticket. Tim wants all aspiring creatives to be inspired by London and the things around them and will offer the creator of the most intriguing image, object or idea a critique with himself to discuss its practice and potential. Graham Fink - Artistic director at Saatchi's for ten years in the 80s, considered the enfant terrible of the advertising business.  Graham will be encouraging people to sell themselves; there are 60,000,000 people in this country, he wants to know √¢‚ǨÀúwhat makes you so special?√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ Whoever succeeds in √¢‚ǨÀúamazing√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ Graham will have the choice of a placement at finktank or the opportunity to work with Graham on their advertising book, an essential tool to getting a job in advertising. Terry Jones, Editor I-D Magazine - For more than 20 years, Terry Jones has been recognised as one of the most important creative directors of his generation. Born in 1945, Jones is the actual motor behind i-D Magazine, which is a wide international success for its inspired content and visionary spirit.
