Futuristic billboards advertising a specific product will be able to recognise potential buyers by sex and age and tailor their message accordingly. A Scottish based company called Intelligent Earth has said that by the end of the year it would launch software to allow "live" advertisements to sense when a person is nearby, knowing their sex, age and race. The company said the profiling software could also be used in robotics, airport security systems and intelligent toys. "The gender-profiling software enables a camera to determine the sex of people with 95 per cent accuracy," chief executive David Cumming, an artificial intelligence expert, was quoted as saying in SMH. They have also fitted the same technology into a robot called Doki. No comment. Link
