Records made from unconventional materials seem to be catching on, we've already seen [ice records](https://www.prote.in/en/feed/2012/12/blue-ice?ref=protein.xyz) and even [X-Ray records](https://www.prote.in/en/feed/2013/02/x-ray-records?ref=protein.xyz), and now you can create your own records out of materials such as wood, or acrylic and even paper.   
  
Seeking to make a method of record production more available to people without access to 3D printing services, [Amanda Ghassaei](http://www.amandaghassaei.com/?ref=protein.xyz) developed a more accessible way of fabricating records with a laser cutter. This technique enables the user to download a vector file and print the MP3 of their choosing on a variety of materials. Each material has its own unique sound that is certainly a bit DIY in tune.
