[BBC News](http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/tv%5Fand%5Fradio/4247622.stm?ref=protein.xyz) has details on the formal go-ahead for the switch-over from analogue to digital television in the UK. In a speech to broadcasters, Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell said viewers on the English-Scottish borders would have their existing TV signals switched off in three years. The rest of the UK will follow, region by region, ending in 2012.
