For all those of you who will be in Amsterdam in the next month, be sure to check out [Transnatural](http://www.transnatural.nl/?ref=protein.xyz), an innovative technology festival and conference taking place at the [Nemo Science Centre](http://www.e-nemo.nl/?id=5&s=85&d=551&ref=protein.xyz) from September 7th.

The theme of the exhibition this year is ['The State of Autonomy'](http://www.transnatural.nl/26-Transnatural-tentoonstelling?ref=protein.xyz), aiming to explore, 'generative systems, innovative materials, open-source biotechnology, new ways to harvest energy and the use of existing sources and materials in an intelligent manner,' and it looks set to be a fascinating festival. Works include everything from 3D printing in the form of the [Solar Sinter](http://www.markuskayser.com/?ref=protein.xyz) (a sunlight powered 3D printer capable of printing glass from desert sand), through to bio-art and [aquaponics installations](http://www.mediamatic.net/260502/nl/aquaponics-workshop-transnatural?ref=protein.xyz).
