The Reading Room travels the country, presenting the handcrafted and self-published works of writers and artists. Embracing the atmosphere of beautiful, often obscure surroundings, they encourage attendees to grab a beer, relax, read, listen and soak up the creativity taking place.

Having been hailed as 'the highlight' of the Manchester Art Crawl 09', The Reading Room is now coming to The Kenton pub in Hackney on Wednesday 18th April. Settle down with a book and enjoy the selection of artists and writers readings throughout the evening. The event will continue every third Wednesday of the month after that.

Created by five ladies sharing a love of beautiful books, [Parlour Press](http://parlourpress.blogspot.co.uk/?ref=protein.xyz) will be accepting submissions from creatives to take part in The Reading Room.
