# The Pool

Colorado-based artists [Jen ](http://jenlewinstudio.com/?ref=protein.xyz)[Lewi](http://jenlewinstudio.com/?ref=protein.xyz)[n](http://jenlewinstudio.com/?ref=protein.xyz) combined art, architecture and technology for her new interactive installation, [The Pool](http://jenlewinstudio.com/community-sculpture/the-pool/?ref=protein.xyz).  
  
She put together 106 circular platforms that are able to communicate wirelessly, with each pad changing colour based on user feedback. As a person places pressure with their foot on the pad’s surface, light ripples, of varying intensity, are sent in that direction. A stronger lean can cause a ripple to jump rings, and even fill an entire pool. All together they create complex colour arrays. The more people participate, the more ripples are created.
