British development organisation [Urban Spaces](http://www.urbanspaces.co.uk/?ref=protein.xyz) has opened a market in New York made entirely from disused shipping containers. [The Dakalb Market](http://dekalbmarket.com/?ref=protein.xyz) opened last weekend and is filled with food vendors, retail stores, artists, craft stalls and even a record shop. The space will integrate elements of the community with a vegetable garden, a kitchen and a classroom area.

We featured the plans for Dakalb Market back in [March](http://prote.in/feed/2011/03/design-brooklyns-new-dekalb-market?ref=protein.xyz) this year, so we're excited to see this creative and sustainable space now open to the public. It will be there for a whole year, so head down to 33 Flatbush Avenue Ext in Brooklyn to see the market for yourself.
