[Morphosis](http://www.morphosis.net/?ref=protein.xyz) designs the Caltrans District 7 Headquarters in Los Angeles, California. Marking the entrance of the building is a [super-graphic](http://www.kultureflash.net/archive/117/tmpritzkerprize.html?ref=protein.xyz), forward-canted sign towering 40 feet over the sidewalk. Comprised of layers of opacity and transparency, that break the confines of the vertical walls, the sign marks the building and the institution as an urban landmark.
