# SparkTruck

If you got the chance to go back to school, what would you want to learn? Well, one interesting project has just launched in the US called [SparkTruck](http://sparktruck.org/?ref=protein.xyz), a travelling workshop designed to engage kids in some technology hacking and DIY making.

Funded by [Kickstarter](http://www.kickstarter.com/?ref=protein.xyz) and manned by students from [Stanford University](http://www.stanford.edu/?ref=protein.xyz), the truck is kitted out with rapid prototyping equipment including a laser cutter, 3-D printers, sewing machines and a clay oven. Kids are encouraged to create products out of the materials and become inspired by the design potentials.

The truck is on a road-trip across the US, covering over 13, 000 miles over the next 6 weeks to reach as many places as possible. Similar to projects such as [Makey Makey](http://prote.in/feed/2012/05/makey-makey?ref=protein.xyz) or the profile on MIT's [Eric Rosenbaum](http://prote.in/profiles/eric-rosenbaum?ref=protein.xyz), this project highlights the importance of play to stimulate creativity.
