[Uncle Grey](http://unclegrey.dk/?ref=protein.xyz) combines new school technology with old school sounds in an interactive analog sound poster promoting Slussen, a new mobile DJ mixing system app for iPhones by [Urbanears](http://www.urbanears.com/?ref=protein.xyz). Staying true to the adage “everything old is new again,” the poster emulates vinyl record scratching.   
  
Using 3D printing techniques, an illustration of a vinyl record was laser engraved on thin acrylic. To produce the signature “scratch”, users run their fingernails over the ridges in the acrylic. The sound is amplified by contact vibration microphones. Designed in collaboration with DJs, the patterns in the analog interface are based on traditional DJ scratching techniques and methods and make it possible for users to emulate signature sounds.  
  
The posters were presented as part of a mega poster in Copenhagen, creating a communal experience with both music and technology.
