Going far and beyond the likes of [Yelp](http://www.yelp.com/?ref=protein.xyz) or [Urbanspoon](http://www.urbanspoon.com/?ref=protein.xyz) to help you decide your night is new startup [SceneTap](http://www.scenetap.com/?ref=protein.xyz) \- a real time data app that uses facial detection and people-counting cameras to let you know just how busy your nearest bars are. How? Footage is captured by a camera fixed to the bar door that scans the incoming clientele, determining through facial structure, their age and sex. Essentially, this app provides a complete run down of how many guys and how many girls, of what age, are in which bars. All in real time, awesome. SceneTap also integrates social forums, the likes of [Facebook](http://facebook.com/) and [Twitter](http://twitter.com/?ref=protein.xyz), maps, directions, exclusive offers and deals. This app is sure to stir up plenty of privacy issues, do we really want to be facially-recognised and recorded on camera? CEO of SceneTap Cole Harper has stressed the difference between ‘facial detection’ and ‘facial recognition’ - and you might've heard the recent uproar caused by Facebook's facial recognition software, where users are encouraged to tag friends who have been facially recognised in photos.
