Streaming audio has seen a rebirth of coolness as modem makers begin to match the bandwidth requirements needed for a decent digital signal. Taking this technology a step further are Xchange and their "acoustic space". If you don't believe me, this was recently posted from the site:

"We had a really interesting co-broadcast with 3 netcasters: mzx-ljubljana, ozone-riga, interflugs-berlin: monika (berlin) was streaming, borut (ljubljana) picking up her stream, re-mixing and re-broadcasting it again, we-raitis&rasa&martins (riga) were remixing borut's stream and finally monika closed the circle with re-broadcasting ozone's stream..."

Nuff said.
