The Public Painting Machine gave attendees of the [Katowice Street Art Festival](http://katowicestreetartfestival.pl/?ref=protein.xyz) in Poland the opportunity to become instant artists. An empty retail space turned art gallery, showcased sixty collaborative art pieces done by the public. Using a system of pulleys, ropes, brushes and water, passersby were encouraged to try their hand at painting their own masterpieces on the machine that stood in the shop window.  
  
This is a playfully simple example of how public interaction can be achieved without the need for advanced technology.
