Join us at SXSW for the US launch of the Protein Journal Gender Issue with a forum exploring the shifting landscape of gender roles in the tech industry  
Women make up more than half of the market in many consumer tech categories, and they make up half of the gaming community. Simultaneously tech companies are realising there is a talent gap — that they need to recruit more women.   
  
But what challenges do these women face? Is the tech industry sexist? How hard is it for women to launch their own tech start ups? What barriers must they overcome that don’t apply to their male counterparts? Should tech start ups be more mindful of their female consumers?

Speakers include; Elizabeth Gore, Entrepreneur in Residence at technology giant [Dell](http://www.dell.com/?ref=protein.xyz); Leslie Bradshaw, co-founder of product development group [MadebyMany](http://madebymany.com/?ref=protein.xyz); Lucie Greene, worldwide director of Intelligence at advertising agency [JWT](http://www.jwtintelligence.com/?ref=protein.xyz), Emma Sutton, marketing director at lifestyle bible [Dazed Group](http://www.dazeddigital.com/?ref=protein.xyz), and Tamsin Glasson, executive producer and managing director of virtual reality production company [Vrse.works](http://vrse.works/?ref=protein.xyz).
