*Lisa Salem reports* \- At [Power to the Pixel](http://powertothepixel.com/?ref=protein.xyz), I asked [Arin Crumley](http://arincrumley.com/?ref=protein.xyz) and [M Dot Strange](http://www.wearethestrange.com/?ref=protein.xyz) the same three questions:

- How do you see your relationship with your audience?
- How do you integrate your audience into your lifestyle?
- How do you compartmentalize your audience community into the big picture of what you’re doing?

I was curious to see how they were going to interpret them. Arin‚Äôs answers turned into a 90 minute thought-trail (I‚Äôd like to call it a thought-experiment but I guess [strictly speaking](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thought%5Fexperiment?ref=protein.xyz) I can‚Äôt). In his first answer, he muses about what is ‚Äòaudience‚Äô, what is ‚Äòprivacy‚Äô and what is ‚Äòon‚Äô and ‚Äòoff‚Äô the web? He also touches on something else I‚Äôve been wondering about - how you go from ‚Äòherd mentality‚Äô to ‚Äòhive mind‚Äô? Because it was such a long conversation, I‚Äôm posting it in three parts. ‚ĶI‚Äôm hoping to be asking others these questions along the way too. Read [HERE](http://powertothepixel.com/london-forum-2008/arin-crumley?ref=protein.xyz) for Arin‚Äôs bio. LISA SALEM set out to walk the whole of LA pushing a baby-stroller with a video-camera attached to the end of it, facing inwards. When people approached her, she invited them to walk with her while she videoed their conversations. She posted those videos to a blog and in the process attracted a large and intrigued audience to what she was doing. Since then, Lisa’s been looking at the process of audience-building in detail. She lives in London now and when not working on her film-portrait of Los Angeles “WALK LA WITH ME”, she runs workshops that help filmmakers be more independent.
