[Matthias Hollwich](http://cargocollective.com/hwkn?ref=protein.xyz#989626/MATTHIAS-HOLLWICH)'s work aims to upgrade manmade environments on a human and engaging scale. His latest project [BOOM](http://www.boomforlife.com/?ref=protein.xyz) is a Palm Springs haven for the aging gay community. Well, at least initially. BOOM is a 100+ acre site complete with boutique hotels (by [Sadar + Vuga](http://www.sadarvuga.com/?ref=protein.xyz) and [Joel Sanders Architect](http://www.joelsandersarchitect.com/jsa.html?ref=protein.xyz)), wellness centre (by HOLLWICH RUSHNER), an entertainment complex (by [LOT-EK](http://www.lot-ek.com/?ref=protein.xyz)), commercial complex (by [Diller Scofidio + Renfro](http://www.dsrny.com/?ref=protein.xyz)’s)... plus eight neighbourhoods each one designed by a different architect.

There's a club house” and “healing fun house” too. Sounds like a real world [Second Life](http://secondlife.com/?ref=protein.xyz). More images here.
